Girl on a Budget

 

Μπήκαμε στην πιο χαρούμενη εποχή του χρόνου και αναζητώ πιο ελαφριά, υγρά φον ντε τεν, CC κρέμες και tinted moisturizers σε πιο σκούρες αποχρώσεις,  illuminators και ένα κρεμώδες  ρουζ σε ροζ, κοραλλί ή βερικοκί απόχρωση, που κάνουν το δέρμα μου να ακτινοβολεί. Όμως δεν είναι λίγες οι φορές που βγαίνω από το σπίτι με μία πορτοκαλί μάσκα από την περιττή ποσότητα φον ντε τεν, το οποίο έχω απλώσει ανομοιόμορφα με τα δαχτυλάκια μου στο πρόσωπο μόνο - ξεχνώντας το λαιμό, ενώ εφαρμόζω βιαστικά illuminator και cream blush, που κατά τη διάρκεια της ημέρας "μεταφέρονται" σε όλο το πρόσωπο…

Αποφάσισα λοιπόν να δοκιμάσω ένα πιο εξειδικευμένο, "stippling" πινέλο, χωρίς όμως να ξοδέψω πολλά χρήματα μιας και δεν κατέχω την τέχνη του μακιγιάζ.

Μετά από ώριμη σκέψη…., επέλεξα το stippling πινέλο της Real Techniques, το οποίο είναι ειδικά σχεδιασμένο από τη βρετανίδα, επαγγελματία make-up artist, Samantha Chapman και ενθουσιάστηκα με το αποτέλεσμα. Χαρίζει στο πρόσωπο μου λεία και ομοιόμορφη υφή, γρήγορα και εύκολα, χωρίς να καταναλώνω μεγάλες ποσότητες foundation ή cream blush (δεν "καταπίνει" τα υλικά). Είναι ελαφρύ, απαλό και ανθεκτικό  , πλένεται εύκολα και στεγνώνει πιο γρήγορα από τα πινέλα της MAC, έχει συνθετική τρίχα - διάβασα ότι είναι πιο κατάλληλη από τη φυσική για υλικά σε υγρή μορφή /mineral - και κατ’ επέκταση είναι 100% cruelty-free, είναι ροζ (added bonus) και με ειδικά σχεδιασμένη φαρδιά βάση, ώστε να στέκεται όρθιο, και πάνω απ’ όλα οικονομικό 14,29€ εδώ. It’s a winner!

Spring has sprung in Greece and I find myself looking for lightweight, mineral foundations, CC creams and tinted moisturisers in darker shades, illuminators and cream blushes in pink, coral, peachy colours that make my skin glow. But too often, I end up with an orange mask covering my whole face due to the excessive amount of dark foundation that I have applied unevenly, using my fingers. On top of this, the cream blush and illuminator, that I have applied in a rush, have "moved" all over my face by noon….

Hence, I decided to try a stippling brush without spending too much money, since I am not an expert when it comes to make-up. Nevertheless, I love playing with different products and discovering new techniques.

So, after giving thoughtful consideration to many options…., I chose the Real Techniques stippling brush, which is specially designed by the British, professional make-up artist Samantha Chapman and I was thrilled with the result. I am getting a nice, even tone quickly and easily, using less foundation or cream blush than usual (the brush does not suck up the product) and without making a mess with my fingers. The Real Techniques stippling brush is lightweight and soft, it washes well and I find that dries quicker than my MAC brushes. It is made of synthetic bristles (apparently as a general rule, they are more appropriate for mineral make-up than natural bristles, which are best for powders) and therefore it is 100% cruelty-free. It is pink, which is an added bonus for me, and designed with a wide base, so that it is self standing for easy storage. It is definitely value for money (14,29€ here) and works a treat!
